REVOLUTIONARY 250 Artist Talk Now Available on YouTube

The conversation continues beyond the exhibition walls.

On Sunday, August 9, the Ossining Arts Council welcomed artists and visitors to the historic Jug Tavern for the REVOLUTIONARY 250: AN ART EXHIBITION Artist Talk. Now, for those who were unable to join us—or for anyone who would like to revisit the afternoon—the Artist Talk is available to watch on the Ossining Arts Council YouTube channel.

Throughout the program, participating artists spoke about the ideas, inspirations, techniques, and personal perspectives behind their work. The conversation offered a closer look at how each artist approached the themes surrounding America’s 250th anniversary and interpreted concepts such as history, freedom, change, identity, and revolution through their own creative voice.

Artist Talks give us something that simply viewing a finished work cannot: the opportunity to hear what happened before the artwork reached the wall. A choice of material, an unexpected source of inspiration, a historical connection, or a personal story can completely change the way we experience a piece.

That exchange between artist and audience was at the heart of the afternoon.

If you missed the event, we invite you to watch the REVOLUTIONARY 250 Artist Talk on YouTube and spend a little more time getting to know the artists—and the stories behind their work.
