Revolutionary 250 Opening Reception Brings Art, History, and Community Together
The Ossining Arts Council was proud to celebrate the opening reception for Revolutionary 250: An Art Exhibition on Friday evening, July 24th, at The Jug Tavern.
The exhibition brings together OAC member artists who responded to the theme of America’s 250th anniversary through artwork inspired by history, place, memory, and personal interpretation. Set inside the historic Jug Tavern of Sparta, the show offers a meaningful connection between the art on view and the local history surrounding it.
Friday night’s reception was a wonderful opportunity for artists, members, friends, and visitors to gather in community, view the exhibition, and reflect on the many ways artists can re-imagine the past through a contemporary creative lens. From thoughtful historical references to personal and regional interpretations, the work on display invites viewers to look closely and consider how history continues to shape the present.
The exhibition remains on view through Saturday, August 15, 2026, and we encourage the community to visit The Jug Tavern before the show closes.
OAC will also host Artist Talks on Sunday, August 9 at 2:00 PM, offering visitors a chance to hear directly from participating artists about their work, process, and connection to the exhibition theme.
