Relive Second Act: The 2026 OAC Challenge Show

For months, we watched worn instruments slowly become something new.

Guitars, violins and a ukulele that could no longer be played were painted, sculpted, collaged, rebuilt and reimagined by OAC artists, each one becoming something completely different in the hands of its creator.

Then, on October 4, those individual journeys came together for Second Act: The 2026 OAC Challenge Show at Mike Risko Music.

It was an evening filled with art, conversation and community as visitors gathered to see the completed works, meet the artists and bid on the transformed instruments. Half of the auction proceeds benefited the Ossining Food Pantry, giving the project yet another kind of second life.

The exhibition may be over, but the story doesn’t have to end there.

OAC has created a video capturing the evening, the artwork and the people who made Second Act possible. Whether you were there and would like to relive the memories, or weren’t able to attend and want to see what you missed, the show can now be experienced on the Ossining Arts Council YouTube channel.

You can also revisit The Making of Second Act on the OAC website for a behind-the-scenes look at the artists’ creative journeys from beginning to finished work.

What began as a collection of instruments that had reached the end of one life became fifteen completely different works of art.
