Allison Midgley - Interim President

Allison Midgley is an Ossining resident and a trainer, artist, and teacher. Currently, in her role as the Westchester Library System Technology Trainer, she develops and supports library staff professional development in digital literacy, existing and emerging technologies, and innovation and maker programs.
Allison received her Bachelor of Arts in Art and Education from the University of Dallas in Irving, TX. In addition to participating in a variety of print editioning projects, in 2010 she was privileged to participate in the installation of Sol LeWitt’s Wall Drawing # 1268: Scribbles: Staircase (AKAG) at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY. Most recent exhibitions include A Round Now In a Square Time collaborative show with Sheila Kalkbrenner at the David A. Howe Public Library in Wellsville, NY (2013) and Moments: Before/During/After at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library (2016).
Through mixed media, photos, and combinations of traditional and emerging technologies, she investigates ordinariness and time; light, surfaces, and textures; and shifts in literal and figurative perspective and focus.

Keith Gordon - Treasurer

Keith Gordon has worked with clay since his teens, beginning with assisting his mother, a professional potter in the D.C. area.  Keith makes sculptural, decorative and functional ceramic art in his Ossining NY home studio.  He also teaches ceramics to adults at the Cedar Lane Arts Center which he manages for the Ossining Recreation & Parks program.  In addition, he is an officer of the Ossining Arts Council and the Hudson River Potters.  Keith favors organic forms which fully express the tri-dimensional potential of clay, and fires in oxidation, reduction and raku kilns.  Some of his work can be viewed on his website:

Our mission:

  • To promote and showcase the talent of all artists, whether professional or amateur
  • To unite diverse talent across other arts-based organizations through collaborative programs
  • To build awareness and inspire passion for the arts within our community
In adopting this mission, we hope to demonstrate that art is an important, vital and affirming force - both in the life of a community and in the life of each individual it touches. We welcome everyone interested in supporting the local arts scene - artists and non-artists alike!

We're based at The Steamer Firehouse Gallery at 117 Main Street, Ossining. We currently meet on Zoom the second Wednesday each month to discuss and plan forthcoming OAC activity - this includes member art exhibitions, fundraisers and arts-based community events. If you would like to attend a meeting, you are most welcome.

We're still here to encourage participation in - and love of - the arts, in all their forms. We help our artist members promote their work through various channels. These include OAC-hosted events, use of our physical Gallery Space in the Steamer Firehouse (according to current health and safety guidelines) and a dedicated artist profile and showcase through our Online Galleries. In addition, our member artists become part of a thriving artistic community here in Ossining. We offer a social and creative hub, where like-minded people can meet, share ideas and foster new projects and collaborations.
